Coaches,

The TISCA Executive Board met on Friday, April 21 to discuss the results from the State Meet Survey, review the hotel site for the April 2024 TISCA Conference, meet with the new UIL Director of Athletics and select your TISCA Coaching Award winners. First I would like to thank the members of the executive board who made the journey to Georgetown, Tx and those who attended online. We had a very long but productive session and we are excited to announce the following.

Second, we have selected a site for the 2024 April Conference. We will have the 2024 TISCA Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Georgetown the weekend of April 18-21, 2024. The board would like to thank TISCA Clinic Director, David Johnson, for reviewing multiple site options and finding a location that will serve our organization for the 2024 Conference. After a very lengthy discussion and site visits to area facilities we are looking forward to having a top notch conference and awards program for you next Spring. We are already in talks with potential speakers and will have some pool time sessions for Swimming, Diving and Water Polo presentations next year. Third, we had the opportunity to visit via video conference the new UIL Director for Athletics, Mr. Ray Zepeda who is coming on board to the UIL in June. He is very eager to work with our organization and very open to new ideas on how to make things more efficient. Mr. Zepeda is currently the Executive Director of Athletics for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD which has eleven high schools which currently compete in UIL Swimming, Diving and Water Polo. The Executive Board is excited to be working him and feel his knowledge and insight will be a great asset at the UIL to ensure we continue to offer the best competitive programs for our student-athletes. Lastly, with the move of the TISCA Conference to April we realize there will be some gaps especially with connecting our new coaches with the organization. This is where we will need your assistance. We have asked the Region Representatives to be the go between on introducing new coaches to TISCA. The Executive Board will produce materials to help with this transition and will be setting up some online meetings to assist new coaches getting acclimated with state regulations for Water Polo , Swimming & Diving. As coaching vacancies are filled, please assist us in connecting us with these new coaches by either sharing with or completing the following form for the new coach.
